About Us

CommonWheels is an Allston-based bicycle collective focused on building a community of happy, safe, educated riders though workshops, group rides, and our flagship program, Open Shop. Open Shop is a free, DIY, bike-maintenance skillshare. We provide the tools and guidance needed to keep your bike working so you can keep riding. Our goal isn't to fix your bike and send you own your way, it's to help you fix your own bike. Open Shop is also a great chance to hang out with your fellow Boston bike riders, trade stories of biking adventures, and share your own knowledge. Don't have anything to work on on your own bike? Volunteers are always welcome at Open Shop, where you can learn by working on one of our fleet bikes. Our Open Shops roll every week on Saturdays at The Grove, between Western Avenue and North Harvard Avenue.

You can also find us organizing group social rides to get our community out biking together.
