At Old Spokes Home, you can always expect friendly and inclusive service regardless of age, race, identity, ability, or level of bike experience. We believe that anyone interested should have access to a bicycle and bicycle knowledge.
We believe bikes are a simple solution to complex problems. Bikes connect people to their community, to their own bodies, to their physical environments. Bikes heal. Bikes empower. Bikes mobilize. We believe everyone should have access to bikes and the opportunities that they provide. That's why we're here.

Organization History
Old Spokes Home was founded in Burlington, Vermont in 2000. The shop operated as a for-profit business, with a community focus, including hosting a bicycle museum on the second floor.
Bike Recycle Vermont was founded as a nonprofit organization in 2005, and established its first formal shop in the basement of Good News Garage, a nonprofit car-donation organization, in Burlington. In the following decade, the nonprofit provided 5,000 bikes to low-income Vermonters, and completed 10,000 repairs.
In 2015, Bike Recycle Vermont purchased the Old Spokes Home bike shop, and merged its operations into a consolidated nonprofit. Two years later, the organization discontinued the Bike Recycle Vermont name, and began doing business solely as Old Spokes Home.[1]
