Measuring Spokes

Measuring spokes is a process made easy by a ruler (Park Tool SBC-1 Spoke Ruler) designed for the purpose. They are blue anodized and have a special hole on them for hooking spokes to measure them.

Hook the spoke into the hole.
  1. Hook the spoke into the hole.
  2. Pull the spoke straight. NOTE: Do not to angle it to one side or the other.
  3. Check the length further down the ruler.
This spoke is 290mm long.

NOTE: The drawers in the spoke motel are 2mm apart; if the spoke is in between two sizes, file it with the shorter size.
