Reasons to use a truing stand:
- Wheel truing
- Wheel cleaning
- Lubing spoke nipples.
- Despoking wheels.
Two important things to remember:
- Make sure the axle gets into the slots properly and that the wheel gets into the right place. Check once you get it in that the stand is pressing up against the locknuts and that the axle is down in the slots.
- The second is do not overtighten. Just turn the knob until it holds the wheel in place, not until you can't turn it anymore.
