As I approached retirement and the end of a 25 year career in the petroleum spill cleanup business I wanted to combine my passion for birdwatching, social and environmental justice and ensuring a future that is not based on petroleum. In 2018, we started up a community bike shop (Front Street Community Bike Works) here in Coos Bay. We salvage used bicycles and provide support for all kinds of bicycle needs in our community.
