There are a lot of solutions to this puzzle, and this is just one suitable for a large shop. The goal was to minimize the paths of bikes/parts/tools, while grouping volunteer-only areas together, making it retail-friendly, having a community/dining space, etc. And we really do need an indoor test track because our shop is on the busiest block of a downtown one-way Main St... the very worst place to test ride a bike, especially in the dead of winter.

We're always looking for new ideas to streamlining our shop operations, grow our reach, and collaborate with community, municipal, and university entities.

'''Newark Bike Project''' offers "learn to do-it-yourself" repair facilities, bicycle recycling and resales, and educational programs for the Newark, Delaware, and University of Delaware, community. NBP is 100% volunteer run and is a 501(c)3 sponsored charitable project.

To create an inclusive and flexible resource devoted to empowering members of the community in the use of wheeled, self-powered transportation;
To value sustainable and environmentally safe transportation alternatives, sharing and the creation of bicycle expertise and education, community building, and the overall joy of cycling; and
To offer an affordable option for community engagement, through reused/recycled bicycles, parts, and the knowledge to sustain them.

Resale of used bikes and parts. Full service learn-to-to-it-yourself repair facilities, staffed by volunteer mechanics. Full mechanic training classes.
